Washington, December 12, 2024 — IP House and the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center (IPR Center) have announced a new partnership to combat counterfeiting, illicit trade, and digital piracy across critical industry sectors, including consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, and electronics.
This historic collaboration, formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MOU), aims to enhance the enforcement of intellectual property (IP) rights, protect the global economy, and safeguard innovations by connecting resources and sharing intelligence within the anti-counterfeiting, brand protection, and anti-piracy communities.
“The fight against counterfeiting and piracy cannot be won alone, so we are always seeking strategic partners that add value to our efforts,” said Ivan Arvelo, director of the IPR Center. “IP House is the first private-sector investigative firm we’ve partnered with, enabling us to provide on-the-ground support to develop actionable intelligence and further enforcement efforts worldwide.”
Under the MOU, the IPR Center and IP House will share information related to counterfeiting and digital piracy and work together to strengthen:
The partnership leverages the unique strengths of both organizations. The IPR Center, with its extensive network of public and private sector partnerships, will coordinate efforts to identify federal enforcement agencies that can investigate, dismantle, and disrupt transnational criminal organizations involved in counterfeiting and piracy. Meanwhile, IP House will contribute its full-service monitoring, intelligence, and analysis capabilities to support these efforts.
Jan van Voorn, CEO of IP House stated,
“This partnership with the IPR Center is a significant step forward in our mission to provide comprehensive, end-to-end intellectual property protection worldwide. By working together, we are better positioned to address the complex challenges facing consumers, brands, and the creative industries with a more efficient and robust brand and content protection strategy.”
